Izam (Cookie Munster), an independent game developer and one of the finest digital artists, in an interview session with BakerySwap talks about his journey into digital artistry, his experience as an artist on BakerySwap, and his view about the future of NFTs

In this week’s edition, Izam, popularly known as Cookie Munster talked about his experience on BakerySwap, his journey into the NFT realm, and his view about the future of digital arts.
Izam is an independent game developer with many years of experience and also a fine artist known as Cookie Munster on the Metaverse.
Thanks for honoring our invitation and for your time. Please can you tell us about yourself?
You’re welcome. Thank you for this opportunity. I’m Izam or better known as Cookie Munster on the Metaverse. I was an independent game developer for a few years before going into art at this moment.
How did your journey into the world of digital art begin?
Wow, that’s a great question. My journey started right when I started developing my first game. I got myself an iPad Air at the time and I experimented with watercolor painting on it. I got hooked and created art for my games using that artwork. And then from there, I got better at painting and decided to share my love for digital watercolor painting online through youtube.
I experimented and learned from traditional watercolor artists (non-digital) on youtube as well, and I developed my technique and style from there. I love it. I’ve transitioned to oil painting on the iPad because I love how other artists have painted their masterpieces digitally. There were a lot of trials and errors and personal techniques developed until I got it the way I wanted it. I consider paintings to be a challenge. A challenge that I love to overcome. The result can be satisfying when it turns outright.
Tell us about some of the projects you have completed so far.
So far I have created several pieces of painting based around my character called Hamster Chef. There are several characters around like Baker Bear and white Bunny. This is an ongoing project where I hope to complete 100 paintings centered on the adventures of Hamster Chef. After completing it, I will create just 100 hardcover books containing those paintings. Those paintings are stories that you can interpret however you want.
These books that I hope to create will be rewarded to all my Hamster Chef NFT collectors via raffle/ lucky draws.
Another one that I have ongoing is the Hot Hamsters Avatar Project. This one I like because I can build a community around this.
I have several plans for my collectors of Hot Hamsters NFT and I hope they will derive much value from them.
Another ongoing project is the 3D art pieces. That is also a collectible that I hope to bring value to my NFT collectors once I reach a certain milestone. More will be detailed in my Medium page articles.
How did you come in contact with the BakerySwap platform and what’s your experience so far?
It was really by chance when I was learning about De-Fi on the Binance website. And then the acronym NFT gets thrown around a lot on Crypto Twitter. I got curious and I tried searching for NFT platforms on the Binance Smart Chain. The promising one and also the most user-friendly one at the time was BakerySwap. I took a chance and uploaded my first artwork there. The experience was painless.
What do you think about NFTs in general?
NFT is an amazing thing. For the first time, I can have an audience for my art pieces. And also to own something digital that you can truly prove ownership of. That is truly revolutionary. The future is already here. I cannot imagine what NFT will be like in 5 or 10 years from now. I believe it can only be better. I look forward to it.
What drop are you working on currently?
Currently, I am working on a digital oil painting of Hamster Chef that features one of the Hot Hamsters. I am also working on the next wave of Hot Hamsters Avatar as well.
What advice can you give to prospective digital artists who are finding it difficult to get started?
Don’t get discouraged. Seek other’s opinions and criticism on your work and always keep on improving your craft. Never settle. There is always room for improvement. Also, post your work and work-in-progress on social media. People love watching how others grow to become better at what they do. Also, only mint your best work (or what you truly believe is your best work) as an NFT. Others might say differently, but I believe by minting only your best work, will give you more credibility and respect as an artist.
